How to book your Wedding

To marry in the Parish Church there are two usual qualifications. One of the couple must reside in the Parish or one of them must ‘habitually worship’ in the Parish.

There are other qualifying connections which may allow you it marry in All Saints. For more information on this and the legal requirements please see the Church of England website: www.yourchurchwedding.org

The Banns (Notice of Marriage) are read on three Sundays within three months of the date of the wedding. If either or both of you (in the case of a qualifying connection) are resident outside the parish of All Saints Writtle you MUST ensure your banns are called in the other parish and obtain the relevant certificate.

  • Your initial contact should be made with our Wedding Administrator – see contact details.
  • The vicar will arrange Marriage Preparation sessions with couples to prepare them for their marriage.
  • Please note that we can no longer offer a Friday or Sunday wedding at All Saints Church Writtle.

IMPORTANT: All couples must read this policy well in advance of their wedding date – Guide to Getting Married and All Saints Church, Writtle.
